Biography of Brian M. Monahan, Esquire Mr. Monahan has been an active member of the Pennsylvania Bar and Northampton County Bar for over 41 years. A graduate of Villanova University and Franklin Pierce Law Center. He is the founder of Monahan Law Offices, a firm with offices in Easton, Pennsylvania, focusing on criminal and civil trial practice, personal injury, family law, custody, divorce, probate and estate practice, real estate, worker’s compensation, administrative law, and school law. He has tried complex civil and criminal matters in Northampton, Lehigh, Berks, Bucks, Carbon, Monroe and Schuylkill Counties. Mr. Monahan has had an active practice serving county and municipal governments. He has represented the County of Northampton, the Saucon Valley School District, Williams Township, the West Easton Zoning Hearing Board, and the Two Rivers Council of Governments. He has served as partner in Lauer and Monahan Law Office, Associate of Philip D. Lauer, Esquire, and associate of William P. Coffin, Esquire.
He is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Third Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Northampton County Bar Association, and the Pennsylvania Bar Association. Mr. Monahan’s criminal experience includes complex homicide cases. Mr. Monahan is certified by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court pursuant to Rule 801 of the Rules of Criminal Procedure for Capital Cases. He is the former Chief Public Defender of Northampton County, currently serves as Northampton County Conflicts Counsel and has represented defendants in Federal Court as a member of the Federal Conflicts Panel. He has served in elected office as a Board Member of the Wilson Area School District and Republican State Committee. He was appointed by Governor Tom Ridge to serve on the 2001 Governor’s Judicial Advisory Commission for Northampton County.
